[Information] Use of Polylysine in Fiber Products
Natural amino acid 'Polylysine' as an additive in food preservatives, hygiene materials, and daily necessities. Examples of the use of Polylysine in fiber products are introduced.
ε-Polylysine (hereinafter referred to as Polylysine) is a substance formally known as ε-Poly-L-lysine. It is a homopolymer consisting of 25 to 35 units linked by amide bonds, formed from the ε-amino group and the α-carboxyl group of the essential amino acid L-lysine. Since 1989, it has over 30 years of manufacturing history and is widely used as a food preservative. Efforts are actively being made to impart the excellent antibacterial effects of Polylysine to various materials such as textiles, paints, and resin products. By immersing fibers in a Polylysine solution, it is possible to obtain antibacterial fibers with high safety for the human body. We will introduce the antibacterial effects against Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae after washing various fibers treated by immersion in Polylysine. Various fibers treated by immersion in a Polylysine solution showed antibacterial effects even after washing. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
